Step 1) First thing you need to do is pick an image. Any image will work with this technique. I’ll be using one of my MySpace pictures.

Step 2) Press U on your keyboard to select the shape tool. At the top of the workspace, in the options space, you’ll see the Rounded Square/Rectangle Tool. Click on that.

Step 3) Click anywhere on your image, hold down, and drag to make the rectangle bigger. If you want a perfect square, press Shift while holding down the mouse. You should then see the shape of your rectangle.

Step 4) Right click on your mouse, then some options should show up. Click on Make Selection.

Step 5) A pop up box will then show up. Make sure your settings are exactly like mine.

Step 5) The lines on your picture should then be selected. Next thing you’ll need to do is go to Select > Inverse, or you can press Shift + Ctrl + I. Then select your eraser tool. Erase all the parts on the outside.
